Rimau Group plans to up more than triple its 2012 coal output

Coal miner Rimau Group plans to ramp up its coal production this year to more than triple, up to 4 million tonnes, from last year?s realized coal production of 1.2 million tonnes, the company official told Petromindo.Com.
Rimau Group has five coal mines in Central Kalimantan, which the company bought in 2007. At present, the company?s coal unit PT Senamas Energindo Minerals (SEM), which is located in East Barito regency has been in up-trend commercial production since early 2011.
The official said that all 4 million tonnes of production target for this year will come from the SEM mine. The other coal units are still under preparation to start production, the official said.
The company still welcome any reliable buyers to buy their coal. Of the total production target of 4 million tonnes , around 50 percent has been contracted but not priced yet. The company is targeting that around 1 million tonnes of the coal will be sold to domestic market, the official said.
The company?s coal export destinations so far are to India, China and Thailand.
Its other coal units, which are under preparation to start production, are PT Rimau Energy Mining and PT Barito Corindo Mineral. Both mines are located in East and South Barito regencies. The other two coal firms are still in exploration stage.
