Integrated coal mining company Rimau Group has set a flat coal production target for this year amid the lingering coal downturn.
Vinsensius, President Director of Rimau Group, told Petromindo.com on Friday that production this year is expected to reach around two million tons, or the same as the realized output last year.
Production last year came from its two coal concessions in Barito Timur Regency, Central Kalimantan, run by subsidiaries PT Rimau Energy Mineral (REM) and PT Senamas Energindo Mineral (SEM), each contribution one million tons.
?This year we will be targeting one million tons output as well from each concession,? he said, adding that the company will not spend any capital expenditure for business development this year. ?We are just budgeting for operational expenditure,? he said, without explaining the amount of the operational expenditure.
In 2014, the company produced 4.6 million tons of coal from the two subsidiaries.
