Integrated mining corporation Rimau Group plans to buy 10 new barges next year part of a fleet expansion.

The company plans to expand its fleet of barges from 26 to 38 units next year, Rimau Group President Director Vinsensius told Petromindo.com on Tuesday. The company will buy 10 new barges and acquire two used barges.

"We expect to have the 10 units of new barges in the third and fourth quarter 2014," he said, adding that the company is budgeting US$30 million for the barges.

The company, through its subsidiaries PT Senamas Energindo Mineral (SEM) and PT Rimau Energy Mining (REM), is targeting to have 6 million tons coal output by 2014. The two firms operate concessions in East Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan.
