South Sumatra coal logistics firm PT RMK Energy Tbk (IDX: RMKE) is targeting connectivity between its hauling road and 19 potential coal mining companies as it seeks to lift coal transportation volumes and sales in 2026, the company said in a statement on Friday.

The company said three mining clients were already connected to its hauling road in 2025, contributing 1.5 million tonnes of new transported volume and helping RMKE maintain total coal haulage of 8 million tonnes last year.

For 2026, RMKE is targeting the addition of four to five new clients, with a goal of raising coal transportation services volume to 12 million tonnes and coal sales to 3.6 million tonnes.

President Director Vincent Saputra said the company expects coal sales volumes to increase automatically as more mines are connected to the hauling road, enabling RMKE to purchase coal directly at the mine mouth.

“We are optimistic that in 2026 coal sales volumes will rise, supported by the option to buy coal at mines already connected to the hauling road,” Vincent said.

RMKE also reported stronger coal sales performance in 2025, with fourth-quarter sales rising 36.3% year on year to 1.3 million tonnes. Total coal sales for the full year reached 2.4 million tonnes, largely sourced from third-party mines.

The company said it will continue to focus on expanding haul road connectivity as a key growth driver for both its logistics and coal trading businesses.
