RNI to build mini hydro power plant in W. Sumatra

State-owned trading and plantation company PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI) plans to build a 15.6 MW mini hydro power plant in West Sumatra as part of business diversification, and to support the government?s program to develop renewable energy sources.
Kompas.com quoted RNI President Director Didik Prasetyo as saying that the company will team up with state-owned PT Brantas Energi in the project, which will be located near Mount Kerinci, taking advantage of local water falls.
?We have signed agreement for the project. And we also have set up subsidiaries PT Liki Energi Nusantara and PT Rajawali Liki Energi,? he said. No further details about the planned project were provided. (*)
