ASX-listed Robust Resources Limited announced in a statement received Tuesday an important discovery of high-grade gold and silver mineralization, assaying 8.24 g/t AuEq?, in diamond drill hole LWD 365 on the Lakuwahi Project, Romang Island.

The significance of this intersection is that it lies in its position as the southern-most hole completed on the eastern limb of an interpreted 2-kilometre diameter circular ring feature. The rim of this ring-structure is considered highly prospective for breccia-style gold-silver-rich polymetallic mineralization, such as that intersected in LWD 365.

Significantly, the three deposits which comprise the Lakuwahi JORC mineral resource, all lie on the structure rim, as does the recently announced very large breccia-style discovery in hole LWD 358 at Batu Perak. The central Batu Perak Basin, enclosed by the ring, is highly prospective for extensive flat-lying stratabound VMS-style polymetallics, which is the high-priority object of intensive exploration drilling by the Company (Three rigs turning and a fourth being mobilized).

The LWD 365 high-grade gold and silver zone mentioned above is part of a much thicker 72.5 meters intersection of highly mineralized volcanic rocks, averaging 1.40 g/t AuEq and 3.51 percent combined base metals. As well as containing the aforementioned upper section with excellent silver and gold content, the mineralized zone contains a deeper interval of strong base metals, averaging 7.51 percent base metals over 23.1 meters.

The largest component of Robust?s drilling has been in and around the Batu Mas, Batu Hitam and Batu Hitam West deposits. The concentration of effort around these prospects was in keeping with the company?s previous strategy to develop a heap leach gold silver mine based on the oxide gold-silver deposits. However, during 2013, major discoveries of high-grade primary polymetallic sulphide mineralization have greatly added to the development options available to the company.

Robust is now prioritizing exploration and resource definition of the prime, higher-grade polymetallic discoveries at Batu Perak Basin and Batu Mas Deeps. Drilling will also continue on the very wide zones of silver mineralization at Batu Putih, exploration of the caldera rim structure south from LWD 365 and on the high-grade Manganese. Drilling intensity will be maintained at 8 rigs until the end of calendar 2013.

Robust?s Managing Director Gary Lewis commented: ?Exploration results at Romang Island continue to reveal very encouraging mineralization, and the drilling success is unprecedented in the experience of our entire geological team.

?The current result from LWD 365 is highly significant. Not only is it an excellent intersection and will add to our mineral resources, but its location opens up the potential of the entire eastern limb of the large inner caldera ring structure for more discovery of easily accessible high-grade polymetallic mineralization.?
