Robust intersects significant gold mineralization at Romang project

Australian mining firm Robust Resources Limited announced on Tuesday the assay results of its diamond drill hole LWD 046 at the Batu Mas prospect within its Lakuwahi project on Romang Island, East Nusa Tenggara show a larger mineralization.

?These results are considered significant as they extend the gold, silver, lead and zinc mineralisation at the Batu Mas prospect and confirm the open southwest strike of the mineralization,? the company said.

Highlights of the assay results for the latest hole, LWD 046, are as follows:

Gold and Silver: 23 metres at 2.44 g/t Au equivalent (1.33 g/t Au and 67 g/t Ag from surface. Including: 8 metres at 3.93 g/t Au equivalent (1.76 g/t Au and 130 g/t Ag from 3 metres.

Base Metal: 12.5 metres at 5.63% combined Zn+Pb+Cu with 70 g/t Ag and 1.21 g/t Au from 6.5 metres. Including: 4 metres at 12.25% combined Zn+Pb+Cu with 84 g/t Ag and 1.72 g/t Au from 8 metres.

Precious and base metal mineralisation has now been confirmed over a strike length of over 300 metres at the Batu Mas prospect. This mineralisation remains open along strike in both directions, as well as at depth, and Robust plans to follow these results up with further step-out drilling, it said.

The company is also said that diamond drilling is now underway at the Batu Jagung prospect in the project, using the company?s newly commissioned third owner/ operator diamond core rig.

Recent Robust mapping has confirmed outcrops and subcrop of highly silicified volcanic breccias and metasomatised limestone over an area greater than 30 hectares at Batu Jagung. Beyond this the mineralisation is masked by thicker limestone cover but will be explored using geophysical methods.

Results of two diamond drill holes, LWD044 and LWD045, at the Batu Hitam prospect have also been received. Hole LWD045 was drilled next to LWD044 after that hole failed to reach the targeted depth due to poor ground conditions, it added.

Both the precious and base metal mineralisation at the Batu Hitam prospect remain open to the north, south and west, as well as at depth, and Robust intends to continue with its successful methodology of stepping out the drilling along strike of this mineralisation.

The third diamond drill rig has a capacity to drill NQ diamond core down to depths of between 500 to 550 metres and will initially be employed on deeper targets in the Lakuwahi Caldera, before moving to the North of Romang Island to further exploration of the Solat porphyries.(denny)
