(12 January 2009)--Robust Resources Limited the Indonesian-based gold and base metal explorer, is pleased to announce assay results for a further three diamond drill holes at its Lakuwahi Caldera Project on Romang Island. Significantly, at the Batu Mas Prospect, where world-class gold grades were reported in December 2009, a large zone of highly encouraging base metal mineralisation was intersected below the near surface gold intersections in hole LWD 055.

Highlights from final assay results received from hole LWD 055 include:
21 metres at 2.92 g/t Au equivalent (2.37 g/t Au and 33 g/t Ag) from 2 metres including 10 metres at 4.74 g/t Au equivalent (4.47 g/t Au and 16 g/t Ag) from 2 metres

83 metres at 2.7% combined Cu+Pb+Zn from 28 metres including 28 metres at 5.3% combined Cu+Pb+Zn from 70 metres

Hole LWD 055 is located in the most north-eastern area of the Batu Mas Prospect and has increased the overall strike length of the mineralisation to over 300 metres, with both the near surface precious metal zones and the underlying base metal zones open in at least three directions.

Robust now has two diamond drill rigs on site at the Batu Mas Prospect dedicated to further extending the defined mineralisation. A third rig continues to explore Batu Hitam and a fourth rig is scheduled to be commissioned in March 2010.

Managing Director Gary Lewis said, ?With each new set of Batu Mas assay results, we continue to intersect significant grades, further strengthening the Board?s belief that we are potentially sitting on a major new gold and base metal discovery. With mineralisation remaining open in three directions, we are keen to progress our exploration program as soon as possible, with the fourth rig expected in March, so that we can continue to identify the scale of this exciting discovery.?

Additionally, Robust announces final assay results from drilling at the Batu Hitam prospect, located 1.5 kilometres to the east-south-east of Batu Mas, in the Lakuwahi Caldera Project. Highlights include:

LWD 056: 29 metres at 1.11 g/t Au equivalent (0.75 g/t Au and 22 g/t Ag) from 8 metres including 11 metres at 1.46 g/t Au equivalent (1.11 g/t Au and 26 g/t Ag)
and 2 metres at 4.9% combined Cu + Pb + Zn from 5 metres

Hole LWD 056 was designed to explore a zone of manganese/barite soils approximately 175 metres to the west of previous Robust drilling. The tenor of the gold mineralisation at LWD 056 is consistent with the grades seen in the previous drilling and suggests that the mineralisation does indeed extend at least 175 metres to the west. The 2 metres at 4.7% Pb mineralisation seen near surface suggests the existence of a new style of base metal mineralisation associated with hydrothermally altered manganiferous limestone, which covers a large part of the Lakuwahi Caldera.

At this point in time at Batu Hitam, the Company intends to concentrate on following-up the excellent intersection in drill hole LWD 042 of 52 metres at 1.57 g/t Au equivalent and 36 metres at 3.0% combined Cu+Pb+Zn including 10 metres at 4.6% combined Cu+Pb+Zn.

In addition to the Batu Mas and Batu Hitam drill holes, Robust has also received results from the first hole at the new Batu Jagung base metal prospect in the northern area of the Lakuwahi Caldera. Results from hole LWD 057 included:
27 metres at 74 g/t Ag from 4 metres
and 75 metres at 2.0% combined Cu+Pb+Zn from 56 metres

These are highly encouraging first pass drill results in this new prospect, however Robust has suspended drilling in this area for the present time, so that an additional drill rig can be utilised on site at Batu Mas to follow up the significant precious metal mineralisation recently identified.

Robust is continuing with detailed geological mapping of this area, which will be used in conjunction with the planned 3D Induced Polarisation (?IP?) survey, with the aim of delineating further base metal targets at Batu Jagung.

It remains the Company?s intention to commence the 3D IP Resistivity Survey in January 2010, which will aim to detect and map base-metal sulphide mineralisation to a depth of between 300 and 400 metres over the majority of the Lakuwahi Caldera. Drilling will continue with three rigs on site with a fourth to be added to the fleet in March, 2010. (end of edited release)
