Robust reports large porphyry potential discovered at Romang gold project

(21 July 2009)--Robust Resources Limited is pleased to announce that exploration in the Solat Caldera which forms the northern two-thirds of Romang Island, East Nusa Tenggara province has revealed strong evidence for the existence of at least one gold-rich multi-commodity porphyry system.

The system was identified by the coincidence of a magnetic low (hydrothermal destruction of magnetite) with a large potassium (K) radiometric anomaly. Both anomalies were also coincident with a distinct natural vegetation anomaly.

This new discovery in the Solat Caldera is in a different and distinct geological setting to Robust?s initial Gold-Silver and Base Metals discovery in the Lakuwahi Caldera which forms the southern one third of Romang Island and where a highly successful two rig diamond drilling program is continuing.

The coastal expression of the anomalies in the Solat Caldera is marked by extensive hydrothermal alteration with quartz / sulphide stockworking over a continuous outcrop of approximately two kilometres. Channel and grab samples along this outcrop returned values up to 12.3g/t gold, 6.1% copper, 6.86% lead, 15.8% zinc and 142 g/t silver.

Peripheral to the porphyry are numerous high-grade base metal veins, notably at the Kiahar prospect, where values of 56.8%, 54.7%, 42.1% and 26.3% lead were returned from outcrops and float material.

Associated silver values are 461 ppm, 658ppm, 115ppm and 178ppm respectively. Gold is also common at Kiahar with samples of up to 11.5 g/t having been returned.

The porphyry discovery near Dedern Bay in the Solat Caldera marks the acceleration and extension of exploration by Robust on Romang island. Drilling continues in the Lakuwahi Caldera at Batu Hitam in the south of the island where the company's two diamond drilling rigs are operating. Further results are expected soon. The third drilling rig has been constructed and is on its way to Romang for site testing. It will have a capacity of approximately 500-550 metres and will initially be employed on deeper targets in the Lakuwahi Caldera, before moving to the North to further exploration of the Solat porphyries.
