The following is an edited excerpt from Australian mining firm Robust Resources Limited?s drilling and technical update report released on Wednesday.

Robust Resources Limited (ASX: ROL) is pleased to announce that assay results received from a further four diamond drill holes at the Batu Hitam prospect within the Company?s Lakuwahi Project on Romang Island, East Nusa Tenggara continue to extend the gold, silver, lead and zinc mineralisation reported from the previous holes drilled by Robust at the Batu Hitam.

In addition hole LWD 030 has intersected the first significant copper mineralisation reported from exploration at Batu Hitam to date.

Whilst too early to determine the full significance of the copper intersection in LWD 030, the directors believe that potential exists for substantial copper-gold mineralisation within the Lakuwahi Caldera due to similarities to the high-grade volcanogenic massive sulphide copper deposits currently being developed by Finders Resources (ASX:FND) on nearby Wetar Island.

Highlights of the assay results from the latest four holes include:
LWD 029: 8.2m @ 1.24g/t Au equivalent from near surface
(Hole abandoned due to ground conditions, to be re-drilled).

LWD 030: 23m @ 1 .23g/t Au equivalent from surface
4m @ 1.1% Cu from 27.2m

LWD 031: 32m @ 1.13g/t Au equivalent from 14.75m

LWD 032: 25m @ 0.82g/t Au equivalent from 1.5m

These results extend the precious and base metal mineralisation seen in holes drilled both by Robust and Highlights of the assay results from previous holes are as follows:
LWD 002: 44m @ 1.53g/t Au and 27g/t Ag (1.93g/t Au equivalent) from surface
LWD 026: 51m @1.35g/t Au and 25g/t Ag (1.72g/t Au equivalent)
LWD 027: 50.3m @ 1.08g/t Au and 66g/t Ag (2.07g/t Au equivalent)
LWD 028: 442m @ 1.14g/t Au and 3g/t Ag from 3m (1.62g/t Au equivalent)

Robust has now completed 20 diamond drill holes and 1,732.55 metres of drilling in the Batu Mas and Batu Hitam prospects of the Lakuwahi Project since the current drilling programme began on 08 November 2008, exceeding the drilling target of 1,500 metres to the end of June. All 18 holes from which assay results have been received have identified precious and base metal mineralisation and in all 18 holes the mineralisation is open in all directions and at depth.

To put the current exploration programme in perspective, only a very small proportion of the prospective Lakuwahi Caldera has been drilled. Interpretation of the remodelled magnetic survey data indicates a mineralising system approximately 13 km2 in extent. Robust?s drilling to date has only tested less than 0.02 km2 or less than 0.2% of the system. In addition to systematic follow up of the positive drilling results obtained to date, Robust is planning an extensive geophysical programme including 3D induced polarisation (IP) to help refine additional targets within the Caldera.
