Rokanhilir regency asks for more oil revenue

The Rokanhilir regency in the Riau province is questioning why it received a small amount of oil and gas revenue compared to the amount received by Bengkalis as the central regency, according to the Riau Post daily in its Friday edition.
Rokanhilir tresurer Ahmad Syaiful said that the regency only received some Rp 11 billion in mining tax (including oil and gas) in the fiscal year that ended in March, while the Bengkalis central regency received Rp 31 billion.
He said that this was not fair because Caltex had a large operation in the Rokanhilir area producing some 820,000-barrel of oil per day.
He said that Rokanhilir would fight to get a better tax revenue. (*)
