US oil, gas firm ConocoPhillips is forced to cut liquid production from Belanak field in South Natuna Sea Block B PSC to avoid crude storage from being overflowed as rough sea has prevented tankers to approach Belanak FSPO.
BPMIGAS Operations Division Head Sucahyo W. Pratomo told Petromindo.Com on Thursday that the company has to curtail Belanak liquid production by 20,000 BPD since Tuesday.
?5-meter waves make it risky for tankers to approach Belanak FPSO to lift crude. Therefore it is decided to delay lifting until the weather becomes normal nad to curtail crude production to avoid tank top,? he said.
He did not give detail about Belanak complex normal production. (godang)
