Russian President Vladimir Putin told visiting Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) that Russian investors are interested to invest Indonesian maritime sector, railway infrastructures and ports in Kalimantan as well oil and gas and electricity sectors.
Putin said there are many opportunities for both countries to cooperate in energy projects, noting that one of the projects is a large-scale oil project in Bali, which Russian investors plan to develop with an investment of US$13 billion. There is also a power project with a capacity of 1.8 GW which Russian investors plan to develop with an investment of $2.8 billion.
However, no details on the projects were made available.
?We believe the opportunity for both countries to cooperate is widely open,? Jokowi said at Bucherov Rucey, Putin?s residential place in Sochi on Wednesday.
Putin said Russia is ready to support Indonesia in developing large-scale development projects such as the trans-Kalimantan railway, as well as developing mining resources such as nickel and others. ?Russia is also interested in providing various types of vessels as well as various types of floating ports,? Jokowi said.
