Russian firm to invest Rp 26 trillion in W. Java

Russian company OAO Russian Aluminium (Rusal) plans to build an aluminum plant and a coal-fired power plant with an investment of Rp 26 trillion in West Java, Bisnis Indonesia reported Wednesday.
West Java governor Danny Setiawan said in Bandung Tuesday that the aluminum plant was expected to reduce Indonesia?s dependency on the import of aluminum-based products.
West Java chapter of the Indonesian Camber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Iwan Dermawan Hanafi said that alternative locations for the projects were Subang, Indramayu and Cirebon.
Rusia and West Java administration will start to conduct a feasibility study in the next six months. (*)
