The South Jakarta court said in its decision, the copy of which was received by Kaltim Post on Saturday, TCI must employ again the 171 workers no later than May 23, Kaltim Post said.
The court also ordered TCI to pay in full the salaries of the workers which they had not received after their dismissal last year.
The court added it will seize all assets of TCI if it fails to follow the court order.
Meanwhile, TCI can appeal to the state administrative court according to existing laws. The court can nullify the manpower minister?s decision to annul the dismissal of the 171 workers.
TCI dismissed the 171 workers after they went on strike to press the company for raising their pay for their extra working hours.
TCI is a subcontractor of East Kalimantan-based coal mining firm PT Kideco Jaya Agung which operates coal mines in Pasir Regency in East Kalimantan. (*)
