S. Kalimantan collects more funds from mining

South Kalimantan province's revenues from mining sector have significantly grown during the past several years due to an increase in mining activities in the province.
Yusri Asaid, a spokesman for the Comission D of the local legislative council, said on Tuesday that the province's revenues from the mining sector increased to Rp 76 billion in the 1999/2000 fiscal year ending on March 31 from Rp 57 billion in 1998/99.
He said that the revenue from the mining sector was expected to further increase to Rp 79.79 billion in the next fiscal year, which will begin next month. (*)
