After having waited for almost four months for a permission from the President, the police are now determined to question Tanah Laut regent Ardiansyah in connection with illegal coal mining case in South Kalimantan province, Kompas newspaper reported in its Friday edition.

?We will question Tanah Laut regent soon when we get the permission from the President,? South Kalimantan police chief Brig. Gen. Halba Rubis Nugroho said in Banjarmasin on Thursday.

This statement was made after presidential spokesman Andi Malarangeng announced in Jakarta on Thursday that the President has granted permission to question seven local government officials in connection with their alleged role in crimes. (*)
