S. Korea?s Kowepo opens tender for 240,000 metric tons of coal supply

South Korea's Korea Western Power Co. Limited (Kowepo) has opened tender for 240,000 metric tons (mt) of coal supply contract for its 3,000-MW TAEAN Power Plant.

According to Kowepo, the KOWEPO-Coal-2003-SP11 tender is scheduled for discharging from July 1, to July 31, 2003 (120,000 mt) and August 1, to August 31, 2003 (120,000 mt).

?Bidders may offer at least 60,000 mt or 120,000 mt on both FOBT and CFR price,? the company said in its bidding invitation.

It added that the bid would be closed by May 26.

Kowepo is a leading supplier in Korean power industry. Kowepo takes up 14.0 percent of the Korean generating capacity mostly comprised of thermal, combined cycle, and pumped storage power plants.
