S. Korea?s SK Shipping secures coal shipping contract from Kospo

(23 June 2009)--SK Shipping had a long-term consecutive voyage charter contract with Korea Southern Power Co., Ltd. (Kospo) on 19th June. SK Shipping will carry a million of steam coals every year, during 15 years from Indonesia, China and any other countries to Hadong port, South Korea on the contract.
The contract has a distinctive feature that shipper will prepay 20% of freight to shipping company. So shipping company can reduce financial cost to use prepaid freight to charter vessel and this affects shipper?s transportation cost.
The contract scheme has good reputation for win-win approach to prosperity of both of shipping company and shipper. (end of release)
