S. Korean firm to build power plant in Maloy Industrial Zone

South Korean firm PT Magma Bio Energy Korea plans to build a coal-fired power plant in the Maloy Industrial and Port Zone in East Kalimantan to support a planned coal to liquid production facility.

The plan was unveiled by PT Magma President Director Nam Gook Park during a meeting with East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek Monday, the provincial administration said in a statement.

The statement added that the planned coal-fired power plant would have a capacity of 1,000-2,000 MW. No further details about the project were provided.
