S. Sumatra, Sharp plan solar power plant project

The South Sumatra provincial administration plan to team up with Japan's Sharp Corp to develop a 10MW solar power plant in the provincial capital of Palembang to support the upcoming 2018 Asian Games, Bisnis Indonesia reported Thursday.
The paper quoted Head of the South Sumatra mining office Robert Herri as saying that the project receives funding support from the Japanese environmental ministry.
He added that the provincial administration will be responsible in acquiring the necessary land requirement of about 20 hectares, and in providing permits.(*)
