SAE to develop 220MW geothermal power plant

Private company PT Sejahtera Alam Energy (SAE) will develop a geothermal power plant with capacity of up to 220 MW in Baturaden, Banyumas Regency, Central Java.
Director of Geothermal at Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Yunus Saefulhak said in a statement Monday the power plant project is targeted to begin operation in 2023 or 2024.
Yunus and local government officials visited the project on Thursday. SAE, which has spent over US$13 million for the project, is currently still at the stage of completing exploration activity. The firm has also started construction of access road, the statement said.
