Saipem, Semb Marine secure $430m EPCI works from Premier Oil

A consortium of Singaporean firm Sembcorp Marine and Italian firm Saipem SpA has been approved to win a US$ 430 million Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) works to develop Premier Oil?s gas processing platform in Natuna Sea Block A PSC, a senior official with upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said on Tuesday.
Deputy Chairman Hardiono said that BPMIGAS has approved the consortium?s appointment.
Hardiono said first gas from the Gajah Baru, Naga and Iguana fields will become onstream October 2011. Total capex for the whole project is forecast at around 920 million.
Gas from the field will be piped to Sembcorp Gas Pte Ltd (Sembgas) in Singapore and PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) and PT Universal Batam Energy (UBE) in Batam.
Premier Oil reported on March 25 2009 that maximum routine gas sales will be in the order of 140 mmscfd and recoverable reserves from the three fields are expected to exceed 500 billion cubic feet (bcf).(godang)
