Upstream company PT Saka Energi Indonesia, a subsidiary of IDX-listed gas distribution firm PT PGN Tbk, is currently holding rig supply tender for planned exploration drilling activities at the South Sesulu block, in East Kalimantan Province, and at the Wokam II block in Papua Province, next year.
?It?s still at the stage of pre-qualification (tender). There are ten companies which submitted (bid) proposals, both domestic and overseas firms. We?re prioritizing domestic companies,? said Drilling & Completion Manager of Saka Energi, Indan Handono to Petromindo.com on Tuesday.
He said that the company plans to drill one exploration well in South Sesulu block in the second quarter of 2019, and one exploration well in Wokam II block in the third quarter. Saka owns 100 percent shares in the two blocks.
?Next year, we?ll hold exploration drilling in three locations, each one well. Aside from Sesulu and Wokam, we?ll also implement the same program in Pangkah block, East Java, around the second quarter of next year. At Pangkah, we?ll not hold rig supply tender as it is a continuation of (previous) project, we?ll utilize the previous rig,? he said. Saka also owns 100 percent of Pangkah block, where the company previously said it also planned drilling of four development wells next year.
