PT Saka Energi Indonesia, a subsidiary of state-controlled gas distribution firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk. (PGN) is in the process of farming in 30 percent interest in West Bangkanai PSC onshore Central Kalimantan, an industrial source said.

The source told Petromindo.com on Friday that the farm-in agreement with London-listed Salamander Energy Plc which operates the block has been signed and now is waiting for approval from upstream authority SKK Migas.

The block covers an area of approximately 5,500 km2 and is located in the vicinity of the Salamander-operated Bangkanai PSC, where significant gas reserve has been found in the Kerendan field.
