PT Saka Energi, an upstream subsidiary of IDX-listed gas distribution company PT PGN Tbk, is mulling to develop a floating gas power plant with capacity of around 10 MW in Papua, according to a source.
The source told Petromindo.com on Thursday that the planned power plant will utilize gas from the Wokam II block, offshore West Papua, operated by the company. ?The floating gas power plant is being discussed at Saka taking into consideration exploration results at Wokam block,? the source said.
Meanwhile, Saka CEO Tumbur Parlindungan declined to comments. He only said that Saka plans to start exploration in Wokam II block in 2019.
