Saka plans exploration drilling in Wokam II block

PT Saka Energi Indonesia, a subsidiary of IDX-listed gas distribution firm PT PGN Tbk, plans to carry out drilling of one exploration well in Wokam II block, offshore West Papua, end of next year.

Saka CEO Tumbur Parlindungan said Thursday that the company remains committed to carry out the drilling program although oil price is expected to remain weak next year.

Saka acquired Wokam II block from Murphy Oil Corp. last year. Tumbur said Murphy had previously carried out 3D seismic at the block.
