PT Saka Energi Indonesia, the upstream subsidiary of IDX-listed gas distribution company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), plans to drill the South Sesulu-2 appraisal well in South Sesulu block, offshore East Kalimantan, in February 2017, according to an official of the firm.
?The drilling plan of the South Sesulu-2 well will be carried out in January or February next year,? Saka?s Operational Director Tumbur Parlindungan told Petromindo.com on Thursday.
Tumbur said that his company is still in the process of implementing rig tender.
The drilling program was originally scheduled in early November of this year. However, he did not say the reason for the postponement.
Saka has so far drilled only one exploration well in the block, SIS-A#1, in December 2014, where it struck gas reserve which is estimated at 500 bcf. The firm plans to drill at least another two wells, and hopes to get a PoD approval in 2017. Saka owns a 100 percent interest in the block.
