PT Saka Energi Indonesia, a subsidiary of state-controlled gas distribution firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk. (PGN), is likely to spud an exploration well named South Sesulu-1 in the South Sesulu block offshore East Kalimantan in late December of this year, according to a senior official of firm.
?We will likely spud South Sesulu-1 well in late December,? Saka Operation Director Tumbur Parlindungan told Petromindo.com.
The well will be spudded by using Gorilla II jack-up rig owned by US offshore drilling company Rowan Companies Plc. The rate for the rig was US$146,000 per day.
In October 2013, Saka acquired a 100 percent stake in South Sesulu block from US company Hess Corp.
