Salamander: Kambuna field update

21st October 2009--Salamander Energy plc, the Asia focussed independent oil and gas exploration and production company, today provides an update on the Kambuna Field, Offshore North Sumatra.

Further to the Operational Update on 28th September, the buyer of the Kambuna gas has advised that following repairs to the turbines at the Belawan Power Plant it is ready to recommence receiving gas. Recommencement of Kambuna production is expected on completion of the on-going investigation into the cause of the turbine failure. Separately, Salamander has re-confirmed that Kambuna gas was and is on-specification.

Take or Pay provisions in the gas sales contract are now applicable. (end of edited release)
