Salamander prepares to drill appraisal well at Bontang PSC

London Stock Exchange-listed oil and gas firm Salamander Energy will complete 2D seismic shoot to cover the area of Tutung-1 gas/condensate discovery in Bontang PSC, East Kalimantan by the end of this month.

Preparations for the drilling of an appraisal well on the Tutung discovery are also underway, the company said in preliminary results published on Monday. Tutung was discovered in 1982 by the block?s previous operator.

The company also said tendering was also conducted for a 3D seismic programme in the offshore portion of the block to be acquired in the second half of 2007.

Salamander is the operator of Bontang block after acquiring 70 working interest in 2006.(alex)
