Salamander?s Kerendan development drilling complete, delivers 40 mmsfd on test

UK oil and gas firm Salamander Energy Plc said in its first-half 2013 financial report that drilling works at four development wells in the Kerendan gas field within the Bangkanai PSC in Central Kalimantan has been completed, tested at a combined rate exceeding 40 mmscfd.

Salamander is the operator of the Bangkanai block with a 70 percent interest, while the remainder is held by PT Saka Energi Indonesia, a unit of Indonesia?s state-owned gas distribution firm PGN.

?The cumulative gas flow rate achieved from the four production wells is comfortably in excess of the 20 MMscfd required to meet the existing Gas Sales Agreement. With the integration of the data acquired during the development drilling phase we will be looking to commercialise additional gas volumes currently in the contingent resource category at an improved gas price,? said the report published on Thursday.
