Salamander spuds Bontang exploration well

UK oil and gas firm Salamander Energy has spudded its Angklung-1 exploration well in the Bontang PSC, East Kalimantan, upstream oil, gas regulator BPMIGAS said on Tuesday.
?Salamander spudded Angklung-1 well yesterday (Oct.4),? BPMIGAS spokesman Elan Biantoro told Petromindo.Com.
Salamander leased the Hakuryu 5 semi-submersible rig owned by Japan Drilling Company to drill the well.
The well will take approximately 39 days to drill on a dry hole basis, Salamander said last month.
The Angklung prospect has been selected as the first exploration drilling target on the block. It is forecast to contain mean prospective resources of 125 MMboe.
Salamander has 90% interest in the Bontang PSC. (godang)
