Salamander to kick off E. Kalimantan drilling campaign Dec

London Stock Exchange-listed firm Salamander Energy will kick off drilling in Bontang PSC, East Kalimantan mid-December this year, a BPMIGAS official said.

BPMIGAS Head of Region Kalimantan and Sulawesi Agus Suryono told reporters on Tuesday that the company has secured drilling rig and would drill three wells in the block .

Salamander in its September 27, 2007 report said that it had secured Ensco-1 rig with Tutung Alpha-1 appraisal well to be drilled by the end of 2007. Tutung-1 oil/ gas discovery was discovered by previous operator.

Salamander has 70 percent interest in Bontang and is the operator of the block. (alex)
