IDX-listed mining services company PT Samindo Resources stated that it is seeking to acquire coal concession despite the lingering global coal market downturn.
S. Witoro Soelarno, Director of Development at Samindo Resources told Petromindo.com that the company is seeking for concession that has coal with medium to high rank calorific value.
?We are still seeking for the coal concession to be acquired including through joint venture,? he said, adding that the coal concession should have a good hauling access, and has potential for the development of a mine mouth power plant.
?The site, it can be in Kalimantan or Sumatera, but the most important thing is the hauling access,? he said. ?And we expect the site location has good access for power transmission network as we plan to develop a mine mouth power plant,? he said.
Samindo currently runs mining services for client coal firm PT Kideco in Grogot, East Kalimantan.
