Sampang PSC partnership submit PoD for Wortel field

The company said approval was expected by the end of the year and front-end engineering design would start early in 2009.
According to the company, the PoD consists of a well head platform on the field, with two deviated development wells, and a pipeline to the Oyong facilities, 7kms to the east.
The block operator Santos Limited said in February 2008 that Wortel discovery, which is expected to come onstream in the second quarter of 2010 subject to final investment decision, would be able to produce gas at the rate of 40-60 MMCFD.
Meanwhile, the company also reported that Oyong oilfield, which is located within the PSC, produced 5,800 BPD of oil during the July-September quarter of 2008.
The participants in the Sampang PSC, which is located offshore East Java, are: Santos (Sampang) Pty Ltd (Operator) 45%, Singapore Petroleum Company Limited 40%, Cue Sampang Pty Ltd 15%. (alex)
