Samudera Indonesia opens new Kuala Tanjung shipping route to Singapore and Penang

Shipping firm PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk (IDX: SMDR) has opened a new shipping route connecting Kuala Tanjung Port in North Sumatra with Singapore and Penang, Malaysia, as part of its logistics network expansion.

The company said the route will operate on a weekly schedule and is expected to improve export and import efficiency through direct access from Kuala Tanjung.

“With weekly schedules, this route is expected to improve the efficiency of export and import shipments through direct access via Kuala Tanjung,” the company said in a statement on Monday.

Samudera Indonesia said the expansion is aimed at strengthening national logistics connectivity with global markets while providing more integrated and competitive logistics services for businesses in Indonesia.
