Samudera to operate two supramax in 2011

Shipping firm PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk will have two units of 57,700 dwt geared supramax vessels on its fleet next year to tap growing Indonesian coal transportation market, a company official said on Monday.
Marketing Business Development Anwar Syafrudin told Petromindo.Com on a sideline of Coaltrans Conference that the vessels are currently being built at Jin Hae, South Korea by STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co. Ltd.
The first vessel will be delivered in February 2011 with the second coming two months after, he said.
Currently, Samudera?s dry bulk vessels consists of three units of 270-feet self propelled barges (SPB) and one unit of 300-feet SPB.
Anwar said that the new vessels will be available for charter to serve domestic and international lines.
