PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), a partner in Sangatta-1 CBM block that is located within a conventional oil and gas block operated by PT Pertamina, denied an earlier report that the CBM block has been returned to Pertamina.
Previously petromindo.com quoted Naryanto Wagimin, Upstream Director at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, as saying that the CBM block has been returned to Pertamina by the operator Sangatta West CBM Inc. (SWCI), which is a joint venture between Dart Energy and PT Ephindo.
SWCI is the operator holding a 48 percent interest of the Sengatta-1 CBM block, while PHE owns the remaining 52 percent.
Sugeng Haryanto, PR Manager of PHE, clarified the report, saying that talks are still ongoing between the Ministry and upstream authority SKK Migas over the management of the CBM block. ?So, there is no decision yet.?
