PLTU Sanggau coal-fired power plant which will be built in Sanggau regency, West Kalimantan, with a capacity of 14 megawatt, will need at least 44,000 tons of coal a year, state electricity company PLN's executive has said.
"The coal will be provided by PLN's subsidiary PLN Batubara," Hemli Najamuddin, the head of coal division of PLN, told Petromindo.com on Wednesday.
The power plant, which is now being built by PT ZUG Industry Indonesia, is expected to begin commercial operation in February, 2014. The electricity from the new power plant will be used to cope with the power shortage in the regency.
