Santan to ramp up production this year

East Kalimantan Coal miner PT. Santan Batubara has set target to produce 2.3 million tons from its Separi Blok compared with 2.2 million tons last year with planned overburden rate of 27.4 million BCM, the company said in its 2012 annual report on Tuesday.
The report said that the production from Uskap Blok is expected to reach 1.2 million tons this year, from last year?s figure of 500,000 tons.
Santan Batubara, owned by Indika Energy Tbk?s mining contractor unit PT Petrosea, which has 50 percent stake with Harum Energy, commenced production of Uskap Blok from 2012.
Uskap pit has minable reserve of around 7 million tons of coal with calorific value of 6,200-6,000 kcal/kg (ADB) and sulphur below 1.0%.
Santan is a third generation CCoW holder with concession of 25,000 hectares within three regencies, namely Kutai Kartanegara, East Kutai and Bontang in East Kalimantan
