Santos acquires 2,000-km E. Java seismic

Australian oil and gas company Santos Limited said Wednesday during the first quarter of 2003 the company had conducted 2,000-km seismic acquisition in prospects near to Oyong and Maleo discoveries offshore East Java.

Oyong discovery is located in sampang PSC, where Santos is operator and 45 percent interest holder. Oyong field is currently being developed as oil and gas producer. Santos said another exploratory well, the Mangga gas prospect, 35 kilometers west of Oyong is due to e drilled in August.

Maleo discovery is located in Madura Offshore PSC, where Santos is operator and 80 percent interest holder.(alex)
