Santos Asian Business unit to focus on East Java, appoints new Indonesia chief

The company said for Santos Asian Business Unit would be headed by general manager Bob Hall and supported by Chris Newton, the new President of Santos Indonesia, based in Jakarta.
Newton was previously managing director of Fletcher Energy Brunei.
The company said Santos' Asian Business Unit is particularly focused on exploration and possible development in East Java and on monetization of gas assets.
In East Java Santos is the operator of Sampang PSC, where significant oil and gas reserve had recently been discovered and is the operator and 80 percent interest holder of Madura exploration block, which the company acquired from Canadian Talisman this year.
Outside East Java, Santos operates Bentu and Korinci Baru blocks in Sumatra. (robert)
