Santos completes drilling of Meliwis well, ready for development phase

Santos Indonesia said it has completed drilling of the Meliwis-1 well in Madura Offshore block, East Java, and is currently in talks with upstream authority SKK Migas to quickly develop the block.

?The exploration phase has been completed and now enters the development stage. We?re now in talks with SKK Migas and it seems (the authority) is already okay. We?ll then prepare the POD (plan of development),? said Santos Indonesia President Director Tenny Wibowo to Petromindo.com on Friday.

Tenny said that gas production from Meliwis is targeted to start in 2020.

Santos has a 67.5 percent interest and is the operator of Madura Offshore PSC. Other partners are PC Madura Ltd and PT Petrogas Pantai Madura.
