Santos? Indonesian drilling update
Thursday, December 2 2004 - 07:08 AM WIB
The following is excerpt from Santos Limited?s Weekly Drilling Report for week ending December 2, 2004:
| Delineation well (Near Field Exploration/Appraisal Well) | Jeruk 2/ST2 |
| Type | Oil Appraisal |
| Location | Offshore Indonesia |
| Sampang PSC, East Java Basin. | |
| 1.6km E of Jeruk1, 35km WSW of the Oyong Field and some 40km SE of Surabaya. | |
| Status at 0400hrs -- 02/12/04 (Jakarta Time) | During the week the well was deepened 52m to 5726m MD (5275m True Vertical Depth), and DST 2 conducted over the open hole interval 5672m ? 5726m MD. The well was flowed for 13 hours and shut in for 25 hours. During the flow period approximately 57 barrels of fluid flowed into the test string. The current operation is recovering the fluids from the drill string (by reverse circulation) prior to recovering the drill string and pressure gauges. Data from the pressure gauges and DST 2, if of sufficient quality, will make it possible to interpret the position of the oilwater contact and hence the length of the hydrocarbon column and the possible size of the accumulation. If the data from DST 2 is not adequate to define the oilwater contact, further drill stem testing will be considered. |
| Planned Total Depth | 5700m |
| Interest | Santos Group 50% |
| PT Medco Sampang 50% | |
| Operator | Santos Group |
