Santos Indonesian gas sales up, oil output down in Q1

Australian oil and gas company Santos Limited reported Thursday its Indonesian gas sales increased to 1.0 petajoules (PJ) or about 171,937 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) in the first quarter of 2006 compared to the previous quarter of 0.9 PJ (154,743.3 boe).

Meanwhile, the company?s crude oil production declined to 34,200 barrels from 38,200 barrels in the fourth quarter of 2005.

Santos participates in the Brantas block in East Java and the Kakap block of West Natuna with 18 percent and 9 percent of working interests, respectively. Aside from the two producing blocks, Santos operates and participates in several exploration blocks. (robert)
