Santos? Madi-1 well plugged and abandoned

Upstream oil and gas regulator BPMIGAS said on Friday that Madi-1 exploration well in Sampang PSC offshore East Java had been plugged and abandoned by operator Santos as no significant hydrocarbon was found in the well.
?Madi-1 exploration well was plugged and abandoned at a depth of 1800 meters,? BPMIGAS exploration division head Bob Yulian told Petromindo.com.
Following the failed exploration, Santos planned to start activity in Wortel-2 appraisal well, he added
The Wortel-2 appraisal well is also located in Sampang PSC.
Santos is the operator of Sampang PSC with 40.5 percent interest, while SPC, Cue Energy and Petrogas Oyong Jatim hold 36 percent, 13.5 percent and 10 percent respectively. (godang)
