Santos, partners start acquiring 2D seismic in Sampang PSC

Australian listed oil company Cue Energy Resources Limited announced on Monday that the joint venture of Sampang production sharing contract (PSC) block had started 2D seismic acquisition on the 4 January 2003.
Cue said approximately 1,000 km of infill seismic would be acquired over a number of prospects that are potential candidates for 2003 wild cat drilling.
The Sampang PSC, which is located in the offshore East Java, covers the Oyong oil and gas discovery. The joint venture had completed 2D seismic acquisition over the Anggur prospect in September 2002.
Santos Limited is the operator of the block with 45 percent participating interest, while Coastal Indonesia Sampang and Cue Energy hold 40 percent and 15 percent, respectively. (robert)
