Santos, partners to drill three E. Java wells

Australia?s top oil producer Santos Limited announced on Wednesday it would drill three exploration wells in its Indonesian operations areas for the remainder of 2003.

The company said in its quarterly report that two exploration wells, Titan BP1 and Calypso BP1 will be drilled in Bawean I production sharing contract (PSC) offshore East Java in the second quarter of this year and Mangga exploration well will be drilled in Sampang PSC, also offshore East Java in the third quarter of this year.

Over the past three years, Santos had been able to discover significant amount of oil, gas in its East Java concessions.

Santos has 45 percent working interest in both Bawean I and Sampang PSC blocks. Santos is operator in Sampang PSC, while Bawean PSC is operated by BP Plc. (alex)
