Santos starts drilling Wortel-2 appraisal well

ASX-listed Cue Energy Resources Ltd said on Tuesday that Santos, the operator of Sampang PSC had commenced drilling of Wortel-2 appraisal well in the block, which is located offshore East Java.

Cue said the well will be drilled to approximately 1400 meters as a vertical well to appraise the Wortel discovery and is expected to be competed in 18 days time.

The well is in 42 meters of water, approximately 1 kilometers south east of Wortel-1 and 7 kilometers from the Oyong oil and gas field in the same PSC.

Santos is the operator of Sampang PSC with 40.5 percent interest, while Singapore Petroleum Sampang Ltd, Cue Energy and Petrogas Oyong Jatim hold 36 percent, 13.5 percent and 10 percent, respectively. (denny)
